Drug & alcohol service

We care for and treat people with substance use disorders.

About us

The Drug and Alcohol Service is a clinic led by psychiatrists, nurses and allied health staff.

You can use our service if you live in the north or north-east of Melbourne and have a complicated substance use disorder. For example, you also have a mental illness, a physical health problem or other problems that are making your substance use disorder difficult to treat.

We are experts in treating opioid misuse and related issues. We can also help with other severe substance use disorders.

We aim to prevent and reduce the harm that your drug and alcohol issues are causing you, your family and the community.

Our services

We provide the following services:

  • Opiate substitution therapy (Methadone and Suboxone) and other drug treatments (this is a state-wide service)
  • Psychological counselling (individual, group and family)
  • Help with social difficulties
  • Either ongoing treatment or short-term stabilisation so that you can return to community treatment, depending on your needs
  • Consultative services to prescribers seeking an expert opinion on how to manage those with special needs (including psychiatric, medical, social and treatment problems)
