Community recovery program

We provide accommodation and rehabilitation for people with a long-term psychiatric disability.

About us

The Community Recovery Program provides a range of programs to help you recover from the disability and social disadvantage resulting from mental illness. The program can provide you with the opportunity to develop skills and resources which will assist you in living successfully in the community.

The CRP is housed in modern, self-contained units on the Waterdale Road side of the Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital.

The CRP a partnership between Austin Health and MIND Australia.

Our services

We provide the following services:

Individual 1-1 sessions on self care, budgeting, cooking, meal planning and household chores
Education about illness, medication and symptom management and recognition of signs of relapse
Recreational and fitness activities, community networking and access to job opportunities in the community
Self selected goal centred activities
Involvement in CRP community meetings and activity planning

Related services

Prevention and Recovery Care Service

We provide a short-term care for people with mental illness who need some additional support but do not need to go to hospital.

For clients

You can refer yourself or someone that you're concerned about to our mental health services.
