Prevention & recovery care

We provide a short-term care for people with mental illness who need some additional support but do not need to go to hospital.

About us

The Prevention and Recovery Care Service is a place where you can stay for a short period while you stabilise your illness.

You can use our service if you usually manage your own illness at home. Most people stay for 2 or 3 weeks then move back home.

We are close to shops, public transport, health services and places of work and study. You can continue to visit these places during your stay.

We have staff on site 24 hours a day. There are about 3 staff on site at any time.

We provide the following services:

  • Support to identify your goals for recovery
  • Personalised care to help you meet your goals
  • Education about your illness, medication and ways of managing your illness
  • Group activities program to help your recovery, such as exercise, relaxation skills and expressing yourself through art or music
