GP directory upgrade

We are launching a new provider directory in April 2026. Learn what this means for GPs and how to keep your details current.

Austin Health is introducing a new provider directory to make it easier for staff to access accurate information about GPs and clinics. The upgraded system will offer:

  • Faster, more reliable access to GP and clinic details
  • Improved search functionality
  • Direct integration with the National Health Services Directory (NHSD) for up-to-date records

What this means for you

Austin Health will continue to use the NHSD as the primary source for GP and clinic details. If your NHSD information is not current:

  • important communications, such as discharge summaries and patient updates, may be delayed or missed
  • updates made directly with Austin Health in the past 18 months may be overwritten unless they are also reflected in the NHSD.

What you need to do

Check and update your details in the NHSD

Ensure your practice and contact information are accurate so you continue to receive all communications from us.

Sign up for HealthLink

HealthLink is now the preferred way for Austin Health to send discharge summaries and other clinical information.

Use Provider Connect Australia

Any changes made in Provider Connect Australia will automatically update the NHSD and Austin Health’s records.
