About Immunology
Immunology is part of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Immunology.
We diagnose and treat immune system and allergy conditions, including:
- drug and antibiotic allergies
- food allergies
- general immunology
- immunodeficiency.
Patient care
Services we provide
- Assessment and diagnosis of immunology and allergy conditions
- Care and specialist consultations for patients staying in hospital with immunology and allergy conditions
- Clinic appointments (in person and via telehealth) drug and antibiotic allergies, food allergies, general immunology and immunodeficiency
Accessing our care
You will need a referral from a GP, specialist or other health professional to be seen at our clinics.
If you are staying in hospital, your care team will refer you to us.
What happens after referral
After we receive your referral, we will review it and contact you.
We may:
- offer you an appointment, or
- place you on a waitlist.
Appointment timing depends on the urgency of your condition.
Referral information for health professionals
All patients presenting to the Emergency Department with anaphylaxis should be referred to Immunology.
To ensure your referral is accepted and clinically prioritised, please include the minimum referral information, including:
- relevant test results
- the requested clinic or service
