Brain disorders program

We care for and treat people aged 16 to 65 who are experiencing mental health difficulties or behavioural challenges caused by brain injury or neurodegenerative disease.

About us

We care for people with acquired brain injuries (ABI) or neurodegenerative disorders (such as Parkinson’s or Huntington's disease) who are experiencing:

  • mental health difficulties
  • behavioural change as a result of acquired brain injury.

Our services

Our Brain Disorders Program (BDP) provides the following services:

  • Community brain disorders assessment and treatment service (CBDATS), a community mental health service assisting people with an acquired brain injury and mental health difficulties
  • Brain Disorders Unit (Mary Guthrie House) which cares for patients with an acquired brain injury and mental health difficulties
  • Step 2 Transitional Unit, for people building the skills needed to live in the community
