COVID clinics vaccinate high risk staff and frontline workers

Work to rollout the COVID-19 vaccine to priority groups through clinics at Austin Health is continuing.

Second round vaccinations have begun for frontline healthcare workers, airport staff, first responders and hotel quarantine workers as part of the 1A rollout and first round vaccines have commenced for staff in the 1B category.

Clinics are not yet open to the general public, but the Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital site will be the clinic used to vaccine the public once the program is expanded.

The process for vaccinating the general community is being coordinated by the Federal Government and they are developing a solution right now as to how people will be contacted and can book an appointment.

Information will come up first on the Federal Government website and Austin Health will include this information on our website when it is available.

You can also use the COVID-19 vaccine eligibility checker to find out when you can receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

The clinic will be open from 8am – 8pm, seven days a week once the vaccine is available to the community.

Thank you also to all of the staff who have been involved in the vaccination program so far, either through administering the vaccine or contributing to the set up of the clinics.

An enormous amount of work has been done in a short space of time and we are looking forward to being able to expand this work to include the local community soon.
