My Health Record

Austin Health is participating in the My Health Record system.

What is My Health Record?

My Health Record is the national digital health record system.

The system provides an online summary of an individual's key health information. It brings together health information from health care providers, Medicare and the patient.

How does it help me?

My Health Record can help you by:

  • Keeping track of your own health history
  • Enabling other health professionals you authorise to see your key health summary so you don't have to repeat it or worry about forgetting important information, such as medications
  • Helping you and your healthcare providers to better manage complex or chronic conditions

What does it include?

Doctors, pathologists and pharmacists can add clinical documents to your record.

A clinical document contains information about your health and care. There are a wide range of clinical documents that can be added.

Controlling your privacy

My Health Record is a safe and secure system that stores your health information. You can take further steps to control your privacy by limiting who has access to your record.
