We care for and treat people with mental health conditions that have arisen from, or been worsened by, the experience of trauma.

About us

The Psychological Trauma Recovery Service (PTRS) is a specialised, statewide service for people with trauma-related mental health conditions.

We can treat you if you have a post-traumatic mental health condition that is compensable.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Emergency services personnel
  • Veterans and current members of the Australian Defence Force
  • Survivors of traumatic workplace injury
  • Victims of crime, including sexual assault
  • Survivors of road traffic accidents

Treatment may include individual psychological treatment, group treatment, or psychiatric treatment.

This is designed to allow you to work through your experience of trauma and any associated mental health conditions at your own pace. The aim is for you to understand your experience and, importantly, reduce the level of distress attached to it. 

Our team is made up of clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists and social workers.
