Heart disease

We care for and treat people with all forms of heart disease.

About us

The Department of Cardiology has a strong clinical, teaching and research focus.

We provide services for the diagnosis, medical treatment and rehabilitation of heart disease.

We also provide surgical treatments in our state-of-the-art cardiac catheterisation laboratories. Find out more about heart treatments.

Our comprehensive Heart Failure Service involves a specialist Heart Function Clinic, exercise rehabilitation programs at both the hospital and in regional community health centres, and heart failure nurses undertaking regular home visits.

We have a 33-bed acute ward at Austin Hospital. Our clinics are held at the Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital.
