Acute and deteriorating stream

About the stream

This stream is for high acuity patients who would deteriorate if not provided with intensive respiratory care.

Rotations available

  • ICU
  • Acute spinal ward (state-wide service)
  • Liver transplant ward (state-wide service)
  • Acute reliever position

Early rehabilitation stream

About the stream

This stream is for patients with measurable physiotherapy goals, either aiming home or awaiting a subacute bed for further rehabilitation.

Rotations available

  • Acute Neuro ward
  • Acute Orthopaedic ward
  • The Surgery Centre (elective surgery)
  • Roving position

Transition and maintenance stream rotations

About the stream

This stream is for patients with an uncomplicated pathway with an event-driven discharge or who require ongoing chronic disease management in the community.

Rotations available

  • General Medicine and Renal wards
  • Oncology and Hematology wards
  • Stroke, Neurology, Neurosurgery and Vascular wards
  • General surgical, thoracic and cardiac surgery wards
  • Respiratory ward
  • Orthopaedic ward
  • Acute gerontology ward
