Austin Health partners with Banyule Nillumbik Local Learning and Employment Network (BNLLEN) to coordinate our workplace learning programs for secondary school students.
Since 2008, BNLLEN has worked closely with Austin Health staff and to date have supported over 1000 student placements.
Work placements give students the opportunity to observe a workplace in action and to learn about the diverse jobs available within the health industry.
It also assists young people to make decisions about their future study and career paths. SWL also makes an important contribution to study requirements for senior vocational students.
COVID-19 has affected the delivery of our student placement programs since 2020. We are pleased to be able to offer limited SWL and work experience places from 2024 onwards.
