Our Vision: Promoting Exceptional Patient Experiences

 

Austin Health works in partnership with consumers and community groups to achieve this vision. We also support staff to engage meaningfully with patients and carers to enable them to make decisions about their care.

Austin Health has a large number of consumers who are actively engaged in activities and committees across the organisation. Our peak consumer committee is the Community Advisory Committee (CAC) which is an advisory committee to the Austin Health Board. The CAC has been instrumental in supporting the development of: 

 

We have a variety of other ways consumers, carers and community members can be involved such as: 

  • Joining a Committee
  • Working in a project team
  • Helping make patient information easier to understand
  • Helping us collect feedback from patients and families about how we can continue to imporve the things we do
  • Teaching our staff about what it's like to be a patient here

Consumer Register

Volunteering

Volunteers can be found across all three sites at Austin Health. Their presence across the health service enhances the patient and visitor experience. There are a variety of roles available. Refer to the Volunteers page for further information.
