The Austin Health's Department of Paediatrics runs a number of different outpatient clinics at the Austin Hospital, and offers comprehensive care for families with children requiring medical attention. The clinics are:

  •      General Paediatric Clinic
  •      Epilepsy Paediatric Clinic
  •      Diabetic Clinic

Days and times

Outpatient clinics are situated over two campuses, AustinTowers and the Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital. Please ensure you have the correct address before attending the clinic.

General Paediatric Clinic:

Monday 2pm to 5pm
Clinic A, Oupatients Department
Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital

Wednesday 2pm to 5pm
Clinic B, Outpatients Department
Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital

Thursday  2pm to 5pm
Clinic 2, Outpatients Department

How to make an appointment

General Paediatric Clinic

To make an appointment in the General Paediatric Clinic, you will need to ask your GP for a referral to the clinic. This then needs to be faxed to the Austin Hospital Outpatients Department, which will organise a suitable appointment for you.

To make a booking, call the Outpatients Department on (03) 9496 2444 or fax (03) 9496 2097.

Paediatric Epilepsy Clinic

To make an appointment in the Paediatric Epilepsy clinic, you will need to ask your GP or specialist for a referral to the clinic. This then needs to be faxed to (03) 9496 2291. We will organise a suitable appointment for you. Please do not call the Outpatients Department to make a booking.  You can also call (03) 9496 2737.

What to bring

Please bring a copy of the referral from your local doctor if it is your first appointment, or if your last appointment was more than 12 months ago, unless you have an indefinite referral.

Please also bring your Medicare card and copies of any recent tests or X-rays.
