Medical Training In Intensive Care

Austin Department of Intensive Care provides vocational training for RACP, CICM based trainees and is accredited C24 with the CICM. Anaesthesia, Medicine and Emergency Medicine trainees also rotate through the ICU.

The ICU recruits registrars twice per year, in February and August. This allows positions to be made available to trainees returning from overseas placements. These positions are at ICU/Perioperative Fellows (3), Senior Registrars (2), Junior Registrars (14). We also offer formal rotations for ICU trainees to anaesthesia (5x6 months), general medicine, rural ICU (2x6 months), 2nd and 3rd year HMOs rotate through the ICU in junior medical roles.

We support a number of Australian and overseas research fellows in both clinical and non-clinical roles. Opportunities exist for appropriately credentialled and visa eligible fellows to rotate through Warringal ICU and Epworth Eastern for salary support. For further enquiries, please contact
