Dr Thomas John - Medical Oncologist and Acting Director

Dr. John has a PhD for studies of gene expression. Tom undertakes basic research in tumour genetics at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research. He has a Fellowship from the Victorian Cancer Agency.

Aamira Huq

 

 

Dr Aamira Huq - Clinical Geneticist

Having completed her basic physician training at The Alfred Hospital, Dr. Huq undertook her training in Clinical Genetics through The Royal Melbourne, Austin, Monash Health and Victorian Clinical Genetics Services. In addition to clinical practice, she is currently involved in PhD studies through the University of Melbourne where she is exploring the genetic aspects of dementia.

 

Chloe Stutterd


 

 

Dr Chloe Stutterd BMBS FRACP - Clinical Geneticist

Chloe trained in Paediatrics at the Royal Children's Hospital and Clinical Genetics at the Victorian Clinical Genetics Service. After speciality training, Chloe completed a clinical and research Fellowship in Neurogenetics at the Royal Children's Hospital and Murdoch Children's Research Institute. She is a Lecturer in Clinical Genomics and PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne, Department of Paediatrics, and member of the Human Research Ethics Committee at the Royal Children's Hospital. Chloe's research interests include Leukodystrophies and Malformations of Cortical Development.

Lucinda Salmon - Unit Manager / Senior Genetic Counsellor

Lucinda has a Bachelor of Science from Monash University and Graduate Diploma in Genetic Counselling from The University of Newcastle. Lucinda is a Fellow of the Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA), Chair of the HHGSA Cancer Special Interest Group, Member of the COSA Familial Cancer Group and Member of the HGSA Genetic Counselling Board of Censors. Lucinda has extensive experience in cancer genetics and a special interest in the long term care of people living with genetic conditions.

Megan Cotter - Genetic Counsellor

Megan has a Bachelor of Biomedical Science from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand and a Master of Genetic Counselling from the University of Melbourne. Megan is a member of the Human Genetics Society of Australasia and the Australasian Society of Genetic Counsellors.  Megan has experience providing adult general and cancer genetic counselling.

Anna Leaver - Associate Genetic Counsellor

Anna has a Bachelor of Science from The Ohio State University and a Masters in Genetic Counselling from The University of Melbourne.  She is a member of the Human Genetics Society of Australasia and the Australasian Society of Genetic Counsellors.  She also coordinates the Austin High Risk Management Clinic.

Giulia Valente - Associate Genetic Counsellor

Giulia has a Bachelor of Biomedicine majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and a Master of Genetic Counselling from the University of Melbourne. Giulia is a member of the Human Genetics Society of Australasia and the Australasian Society of Genetic Counsellors. Giulia has experience providing genomic genetic counselling and coordinates the Renal Genetics Clinic.

 Jasmine Bojadzieva

 


Jasmine Bojadzieva - Associate Genetic Counsellor

Jasmine has a Bachelor of Biotechnology and Biomedical Science from RMIT University and Bachelor of Science (Honours degree), Master of Science and Graduate Diploma in Genetic Counselling from The University of Melbourne. Her primary clinical role is to provide risk assessment and genetic counselling to patients seen in the familial cancer clinic. She also coordinates the Austin High Risk Management clinic for women at increased risk of breast and/or ovarian cancer. Jasmine is a member of the Human Genetics Society of Australasia and the Australasian Society of Genetic Counsellors.

  Emma Creed

 

 

Emma Creed - Associate Genetic Counsellor

Emma has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours in Psychology) and Bachelor of Science and a Master of Genetic Counselling from the University of Melbourne. Emma is a member of the Human Genetics Society of Australasia and the Australasian Society of Genetic Counsellors. Emma has experience in genomic genetic counselling, cancer and adult general genetics and now works as one of the prenatal genetic counsellors for the Northern Hospital.

 

Rhiana Spinoso - Associate Genetic Counsellor

Rhiana has a Bachelor of Science majoring in Genetics, Diploma of Modern Languages and a Master of Genetic Counselling from the University of Melbourne. Rhiana is a member of the Human Genetics Society of Australasia and the Australasian Society of Genetic Counsellors. She has experience in providing risk assessments and genetic counselling to patients seen in the familial cancer clinic.

 

Renee Dow - Associate Genetic Counsellor

Renee has a Bachelor of Biological Science (Honours in Genetics) from LaTrobe University and a Graduate Diploma in Genetic Counselling from the University of Melbourne. Renee is a member of the Human Genetics Society of Australasia and the Australasian Society of Genetic Counsellors. Renee has experience providing prenatal genetic counselling and now works as a prenatal genetic counsellor for The Northern Hospital.

Jen joined Clinical Genetics in January 2016 and has over 20 years administrative experience working in a wide variety of sectors, both in Melbourne and London.

Vanessa Tate - Data Manager

Vanessa has worked in a varietyof data management roles including many years in Community Health where she coordinated software updates and the move to a paperless environment. She has a Diploma of Business Management and joined Austin Genetics in 2014.

 

Emma Murdoch

Data Assistant

Emma joined Clinical Genetics in February 2018. She graduated from the Australian National University with a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts. Emma currently manages our family history data, helps with administrative work, and coordinates the GeNE DHHS exome project.


Anastasia Georgakopoulos - Administrative Assistant

Anastasia joined Clinical Genetics in November 2016. She has a background in Graphic Design, Purchasing (including at Austin) and Medical Office Administration.
