Veteran liaison

Title

We provide support and assistance to veterans who are patients at Austin Health.

Veteran Liaison provides a contact point for veteran enquiries and assistance at Austin Health.

Our two Veteran Liaison Officers, Robert Winther and Siobhan Hodgins, provide the service.

The office is located at Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital, but assists staff and patients across all three campuses within Austin Health.

We provide the following services to veterans:

Support and assistance
Advocacy on your behalf
Connection to other community services, including services provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs
The Veterans Centre, which provides pension, advocacy and welfare support as well as access to representatives from RSL Vic Branch and Melbourne Legacy
Observance services
Tours for veteran groups
Other activities for the veteran community

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are not holding observance services and other events at this time.

We look forward to being able to come together as a community again as soon as it is safe to do so.

You do not need a referral to access our service.
