We promote the mental health and wellbeing of children, young people and their families/carers through community development and education and training.

About us

The Mental Health Promotion Team works closely with community based services and schools to support and promote the wellbeing of children, young people, and their families.

Our work includes mental health promotion, programs and policies aimed at early intervention and the prevention of mental illness.

Our services

We provide the following services:

Arranging regular secondary consultations to community agencies and schools or school clusters
The development of referral pathways and navigating the mental health service system
The use of risk assessment and screening tools and processes for the early identification of children and young people who may need additional support
Assisting schools to implement ‘whole of school’ approaches to the wellbeing of the school community
The development of school wellbeing teams
The development of case management practices in schools
The development of partnerships with service organisations, and protocols for effective collaboration
Professional learning for key community agencies and school staff
Advice on ‘best practice’ programs to address wellbeing and mental health issues
