About us
Our department has close links with the Department of Microbiology at Austin Health.
Some of our infectious diseases physicians are also medical microbiologists.
We also work closely with government and with the University of Melbourne.
We have a strong focus on research that helps to understand and combat infectious diseases issues relevant to the Australian community.

COVID-19
We run the COVID-19 screening clinic and provide care for patients with COVID-19.

We provide the following services:
- A full range of inpatient and outpatient infectious diseases services to Austin Health as well as to a number of regional hospitals in Victoria

- Coronavirus Screening Clinic
- Drug & Antibiotic Allergy Service
- Infectious Diseases Clinic
- Travel and Tropical Medicine Clinic (for immunocompromised patients and Austin Health staff)
- Immunocompromised Host Clinic (which focuses on preventing infection for people who are immunocompromised, such as cancer and organ transplant patients)
- Infectious Diseases Hospital in the Home Clinic
