We care for and treat parents with a mental illness and their infants up to 12 months of age.

About us

We can provide you with care in hospital or at home. 

The Parent Infant Program also has a close link with the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology’s Parent-Infant Research Institute (PIRI).

Our services

We provide the following services:

Clinics

We run the following clinic:

  • The Infant Clinic - cares for families having a range of difficulties from pregnancy through to 2 years after having a baby. Appointments can be made by phone on 03 9496 4496. 

Our Department of Clinical and Health Psychology also runs the following clinics:

  • Perinatal Mental Health Clinic - specialises in postnatal depression and maternal mood, parent-infant difficulties, adjustment and preparing for parenthood in pregnancy

  • Prematurity Clinic - assists parents to adjust after a premature birth, including with optimising infant emotional and physical responsiveness.

You can refer yourself or someone that you're concerned about to our Mental Health services.
