The Library will be short-staffed from Monday 28 April so will be closing at 5.00 pm each week day.  It is anticipated that 6.00 pm closing will return from Monday 26 May.

The NH&MRC has developed this resource to promote collaborative discussions between clinicians and their patients about the use of complementary medicine.   

From the Harvard Business School, this new working paper, Learning by thinking : how reflection aids performance, proposes that one of the critical components of learning is reflection, or the intentional attempt to synthesise, abstract, and articulate the key lessons taught by experience ... Further, the paper finds that the effect of reflection on learning is mediated by greater perceived self-efficacy ... the results shed light on the role of reflection as a powerful mechanism behind learning.

Today I leave Austin Health.  It has been a privilege and a pleasure to have worked with so many wonderful health professionals over the years.  A new Chief Librarian will begin at Austin Health shortly.  I am sure you will enjoy the enthusiam and fresh ideas that she will bring to the role. 

In the meantime this is the last issue of the Library Bulletin, at least for now.  I'm sure my successor will have ideas about how to continue the communication.
