Austin Health's HMO2 (PGY2) year offers a variety of rotations with training programs broadly divided into three streams:
Each stream is designed to provide a variety of rotations and experiences to support career development and training/entry requirements.
Please note: Austin Health offers multi-year contracts for succcessfully matched HMO2 candidates (candidates will have the option to accept a one, two or three year appointment, depending on their training stream).
Please refer to our Information Guides for further details on rotational and training opportunities within each stream.
Our HMO2 positions will be filled via the PMCV Allocation and Placement Service conducted through the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV). Therefore, applications must be made to both Austin Health and the PMCV.
HMO2 applicants interested in either the General or Surgical streams will only need to apply once to Austin Health. Within the application process, applicants will have the opportunity to preference which of these two streams they wish to preference first and second (if applicable).
HMO2 applicants interested in the Medical/BPT stream will need to apply separately via the Austin Health website for this stream as well as via the PMCV website for the BPT1/BPT2 stream. This application is separate to the other HMO2 streams.

1. Refer to the PMCV website for APS guidelines and dates, and register with PMCV for the Computer Match.
