Referring Patients to Gastroenterology Clinic

Austin Health's Gastroenterology Department provides a comprehensive range of gastroenterology services for the management of patients with all types of gastrointestinal (GI), hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases.

Clinical Service Overview

Austin Health provides a general Gastroenterology Clinic to patients who are referred by their GP or medical practitioner.

The department manages additional subspecialty clinics as well as providing a facility for practitioners to refer patients for Endoscopy Services.

Referring your patient

Austin Health's Gastroenterology Clinic accepts referral forms from GPs and medical specialists.

Referrals are triaged according to their clinical urgency. To ensure timely triage, please attach all relevent patient medical information with the completed referral.

Patients who require immediate assessment should be sent to the Emergency Department.

To refer your patient, please complete and fax a referral form with all relevant tests and past procedures to 03 9496 2097.
