Grant opportunities for medical researchers at the Austin precinct

The AMRF supports researchers at Austin Health by providing grants for research projects and scholarships. The current round is now open.

  • Applications Open on 1st July  2016
  • Applications Close on 31st August 2016 , 5pm AEDT
  • Grant results will be announced on 1st November 2016

Publication of the Month

A monthly prize to recognise the best original research published at Austin LifeSciences will be awarded.

Eligibility and assessment criteria:

The publication must be an original research paper only (this does not include reviews).
A researcher (staff or student) from Austin LifeSciences must be the first or corresponding author.
The nominated publication in the journal with the highest impact factor for a particular month will be awarded the prize. The discipline and specialty will also be considered as part of the assessment.
The prize will be a gift card valued at $100 for the authors and research team to celebrate their success.
In addition, a second prize of $1000 for the best paper of the year will be awarded. This will be chosen from the winners of the monthly prize.

Announcement:

The prize will be announced monthly at the Division of Medicine Grand Round and it is expected that the recipient makes a short acceptance speech (~2mins) summarising their work.

The announcement will be posted on this web page, the Austin Health staff intranet (the HUB) and the Austin Facebook page with links to the publications.

A list of all the publications submitted will be posted monthly.
