Emergency Department parking changes - what you need to know

Due to construction works, please be aware of changes to Emergency Department car parking for patients. Safe pedestrian pathways are also in place. Please make sure that you use these pathways at all times. Walking on the entry roadway is not safe due to high volumes of emergency ambulance traffic.

If I come to the Emergency Department from 6th August onwards, where should I park?

There are three options:

1. Enter off Burgundy Street
There is limited, '15 minute drop-off only' parking approximately 50 metres from the entrance to the ED. There are 11 spaces available (including 1 disabled bay). Please note that this area is a 15 minute drop-off area only.

2. Austin Tower Car Park - enter off Studley Road
Patients and families can park in the Austin Tower car park and take the Austin Hospital lifts to level one. Signage is in place to help you find your way to the Emergency Department.

3. Austin Hospital main entrance - enter off Studley Road
Patients can be dropped off at the level 1 Austin Hospital main entrance via Studley Road. Signage is in place to help you find your way to the Emergency Department.

Can I still expect the same level of care?

You can expect the same level of care 24 hours a day.
