PTRS provides these services through a multidisciplinary, holistic treatment model with a combination of both individual and group-based treatment interventions.

Specific interventions include substance misuse rehabilitation and anger, depression and anxiety management. In addition, an extensive range of programs are offered to individuals while on the unit, including:

Trauma Focused Group Treatment
Healthy Living Skills Group
Creative Workshops
Relaxation Group
Exercise Group
Social Outing Group
Hydrotherapy
Current Affairs Discussion Group
Communication Skills Group
External Activities Program

Where an inpatient admission is indicated, the VPU senior registrar undertakes an in-depth, telephone-based assessment followed by a comprehensive face-to-face assessment. This assessment forms the basis of early inpatient treatment and is subject to ongoing review and revision throughout the duration of the individual's stay on the unit to ensure that the best possible outcomes are achieved for and with the individual.
