The Surgery & Endoscopy Centre at the Austin Hospital provides surgery and procedures to patients who are generally able to return home the same day. For procedures performed in the afternoon, some patients may be required to recover overnight in a 23-hour bed before returning home the next morning. The Surgery & Endoscopy Centre is located on Level 7 of the Austin Hospital Tower.
For more information, see the Surgery and Endoscopy Centre.
The Ambulatory Care Centre provides ongoing tests and treatments to patients who are able to return home that night. Services provided through the Ambulatory Care Centre include infusions of antibiotics and other intravenous treatments, investigations and tests to monitor a patient’s progress and minor day procedures. The Ambulatory Care Centre is located next to the Transit Lounge on level 3 of the Austin Hospital Tower.
The Medi-Hotel at Austin Hospital provides alternative accommodation for patients who do not need to stay in hospital overnight but would benefit from the convenience of staying close by. If you think you could benefit from the Medi-Hotel, contact the Nurse Unit Manager on 03 9496 3710.
