Education

The BDP Community Team runs an Education Calendar that is partly demand-driven, partly routine.

For small groups and non-profit organizations these education sessions are free. However, a nominal fee may be charged for larger events or compensable audiences such as TAC.

Typical topics during educational sessions include:

  • ABI & Mental Illness
  • Medications
  • Positive behaviour support
  • Navigating the system (Disability & Mental Health)
  • Case vignettes to illustrate above

Less formal education is also provided while working on a specific client case, or during evening events organized for consumers or carers.

Requests for an educational session are made via the same avenue as referrals, ie:

Tel: (03) 9490 7366

Fax: (03) 9490 7358

Email: bdpv@austin.org.au

Electronic referal (download referral form)

When making a request, it is useful to provide some key details such as:

  • nature and size of the audience
  • venue location
  • preferred topics
  • time required (eg 1-2 hours, half a day, full day..)

The Education Enquiry Form can be downloaded from the link at the bottom of this page.
