About Austin LifeSciences Research Week
Austin LifeSciences Research Week provides an opportunity for all Researchers associated with Austin Health to discuss and share their research. Research Week provides a forum for collaboration and promotion of the quality of research done at Austin Health. A range of activities occur during the week including fora, lectures and symposia. Many researchers are involved as authors of posters. A generous selection of prizes are on offer (see Awards page)
A major activity of Research Week 2010 will be the poster display. The deadline for poster submission is 6 August 2010.
Interested authors may also offer to present their work orally on Monday 18 October between 3 - 4pm, in a mini-oral session (oral presentation of 7 minutes plus 3 minutes questions).
Depending on submission numbers and available space authors will be asked to stand with their poster in Research Week for a session (either Tuesday 19 or Thursday 21 October 2.30 - 3.30 pm), during which other authors of posters in similar areas will be present.
The posters will be on display from Monday 18 October - Wednesday 20 October (session 1) or Wednesday 20 October - Friday 22 October (session 2). Authors of abstracts selected for poster display will be notified by late August 2010.
The highest quality abstracts will be invited to present their work orally on Wednesday 20 October and be considered for the AHMRF Young Investigator Award.
Abstracts will be published on the Austin Health web site and the abstract book will be available as a downloadable pdf. Public access to abstracts will be embargoed until 18 October 2010. Abstract submitters will be asked at the time of submissison whether they agree to make their abstracts publicly accessible

Clinical Photography requirements
Authors of abstracts selected for poster display will be notified in August and will need to prepare a poster to be displayed during Research Week. Authors using the services of Clinical Photography will need to discuss timelines with Clinical Photography prior to 30 September 2010.
Poster Size: STRICTLY maximum size is A 0,
The absolute maximum width (horizontal measurement when hanging) is 1.2m.
Posters longer than 1.2m (vertical measurement when hanging) will be longer than the posterboard. This makes posters difficult to read and is strongly discouraged
Authors are welcome to use Clinical Photography (x2452) for the printing and laminating of paper posters or the production of cloth posters. Prices are listed in the downloadable pdf.
Templates sized for Research Week are available from geraldine.richards@austin.org.au
Clinical Photography request that you make arrangements with them for poster preparation early as demand becomes very high close to Research Week.
