The practice of registering all participants in Austin Health research will ensure the organisation has a record of each individual for the purposes of good governance. Such registration will ensure the organisation is able to track all interactions with research participants, thus providing both the organisation and the participants themselves with a complete record of past interactions with Austin Health which may be an important consideration in the event of individuals requiring medical care, participating in research or for other purposes in the future.
