Damien Phillips grew up in Melbourne's eastern suburbs and after an undergraduate science degree completed a postgraduate medical degree at the University of Queensland in 2001.
He has since held positions as registrar of Ear, Nose and Throat surgery at the Royal Children's Hospital, Monash Medical Centre, Royal Victorian Eye & Ear Hospital, Box Hill Hospital and Austin Health.
Damien completed his advanced surgical training in ENT Head and Neck surgery in Melbourne in 2010, when he gained Fellowship to The Royal Australiasian College of Surgeons.
He has recently returned from London where he worked for 18 months. Initially completing an Advanced Surgical Fellowship in ENT Head and Neck Surgery at St. Georges Hospital, he then gained further paediatric ENT experience at St. George's and Great Ormond Street Hospital's in London, England. Following his time in London, Damien went to the world renowned Cincinnati Children's Hospital, Ohio USA.
Damien has appointments as an ENT, Head and Neck surgeon at Austin Health, The Northern Hospital and The Royal Children's Hospital. He has private operating lists at Cotham Private Hospital (Kew) and St. Vincent's Private Hospital (East Melbourne - formerly Mercy Private Hospital).
Being a father of two young children (3 and 1 year old), Damien has a special understanding of paediatrics and young families. He has a special interest in head and neck oncology and sinus surgery. His paediatric ENT interests include various hearing loss and glue ear treatments along with treatments for snoring and sleep apnoea.
